The archive keeps only what helps it remember the reader.

OneKidReadThis is a poetry archive first. If you sign in, leave a note, hold a poem, or share something from the site, the archive may keep a small amount of account and activity information so it can remember your place in the room.

What may be stored

  • Basic login details from the provider you choose.
  • Reader holds, notes, shares, listens, and similar interaction events.
  • Session cookies used to keep reader login working.
  • Rough location information such as city, region, or country.
  • Technical logs needed to keep the site working reliably.

What does not happen

  • Your data is not sold.
  • The site does not run advertising.
  • Your private shelf is not exposed as public activity.
  • No exact location or stalking-level tracking is intended.
  • Reader login exists to support belonging, not surveillance.

Third-party services

Reader login may use providers such as Google, Instagram, Threads, or X. Substack is used for email delivery. The archive is also hosted using third-party infrastructure for analytics, storage, and authentication. Those services may process limited technical data as part of keeping the site running.

Deletion and questions

If you need your reader account or reader-submitted data deleted, or if you have privacy questions about the archive, write to onekidreadthis@gmail.com.
