Sunburn

The times you were held in those rare, accidental pauses, in the early mornings before you walked out the door on the way to school, reside in your memory like fingertip drawings in the sand by the ocean shore. And not until the day you hold another in that same special space does the light of the sun burn your creation into eternity.
