Visual interpretation of "Or leave before you": What if you got so good at lying; That they could just float out of you

No. 007

Or leave before you

Like bubbles from a children's toy.

What if you got so good at lying That they could just float out of you And fly away and pop Like bubbles from a children's toy. What if you got so good that no one could ever tell the difference And you could get away with it, Over and over again. But know this: The cost is steep. When someones lies to your face You'll feel it cut too deep to meet their eyes. Each lie you don't verbalize Will remain trapped inside Until it eats you alive. And understand that every person you deceived Every person you hurt Will eventually learn the truth Or leave before you.

A way further in

Not the final meaning. Just a closer read, a better question, and a few nearby poems worth opening next.

Pay attention to the shift in the middle. That is often where the poem chooses who it is becoming.
