I'll learn one day
December 9, 2024 · Poem 32 of 112
To even think that I could teach you,
When you already know so much.
You'll know how much I'll need to hold you
Every night as we fall asleep.
You'll give me the blocks I need to build worlds
And help me lay out the papers to
Draw mazes down the long hallway.
You'll bring me where I need to go.
And I'll invent reasons not to be grateful.
I won't appreciate the everyday struggle—
You'll give me more than enough to survive,
And you'll give me the space to dream.
And I'll learn one day. I'll learn one day.
