A chamber of the overcome
February 23, 2025 · Poem 17 of 112
You'll be taken back one day
To the room you worked your entire life to
escape,
The walls dripping with fresh reopenings,
The air pregnant with the echoes of so many
Silent screams.
But somewhere within those walls,
Where you found the space and strength to
train yourself—
To write, to sing, to dream,
To cry and let go—
You'll witness the walls become mirrors—
A chamber of the overcome.
