The absence of a guiding hand,
The touch you missed—
Forced you to feel every nuance
Of the surfaces
With your own.
The textured roughness, the bruises
And cuts—the scars that formed around
them—
Transform the
Memory of shape and sharpened
intuition
Into the beautiful, protective membrane
of recognition
That only you can feel.
