Or did you stay on the floor?
December 8, 2024 · Poem 38 of 112
She disappeared down the hallway,
And you watched her close the door.
You walked back into your apartment
And sat on the floor, staring through
The floor-to-ceiling windows at the river.
And then the state of the world
Changed,
Bathing you in a purple-orange
Glow of sunset shimmer.
Everything seemed so close!
Did you rush back out and knock on her
door
To show her? Or did you stay on the floor,
Transfixed?
