Invisible prisons you locked yourself in

November 16, 2024 · Poem 65 of 112

The long coupon bus rides To the neon towers in the darkness. The buzzers on the unmarked doors, leading to hidden abattoirs— disguised as oases. Invisible prisons you locked yourself in, just to see if you could escape. No one will ever understand how hard it was to break through those bars— except the other inmates.
